The Comic Strip Presents...

The Comic Strip Presents... is a long-running British television comedy anthology series that first aired in 1982. Born out of the alternative comedy scene at London's The Comic Strip club, the show features a rotating cast of performers in a series of self-contained, satirical films. Each episode parodies a different genre, ranging from film noir and horror to political thrillers and soap operas, often with a dark, anarchic, and irreverent sense of humor. The series is renowned for launching the careers of several iconic British comedians, including Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Adrian Edmondson, Rik Mayall, and Peter Richardson. By subverting television tropes and mocking cultural icons, the show became a cornerstone of 1980s British satire, maintaining a cult following through its sporadic production schedule that has spanned over four decades.
