The Conners is an American television sitcom created for ABC as a spin-off and continuation of the long-running revival of the iconic 1980s and 1990s series Roseanne. The show follows America's favorite working-class family—Dan, Darlene, Becky, and D.J.—as they navigate the daily struggles of life in Lanford, Illinois. Following a sudden family tragedy, the clan must face the financial realities of day-to-day survival without a safety net, relying on one another's trademark humor, resilience, and unconditional love. Throughout its run, the series deftly tackles relevant contemporary issues such as healthcare costs, job insecurity, substance abuse, and aging, all while preserving the authentic, down-to-earth tone that made the original series a cultural touchstone. Characters evolve significantly, with Darlene navigating single motherhood and career changes, Becky facing the challenges of raising a child while staying sober, and patriarch Dan striving to keep the household afloat amidst mounting debts and declining health.
