The Goodies

The Goodies is a classic British television comedy series created by and starring Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden, and Bill Oddie. Blending surreal slapstick, satirical social commentary, visual effects, and whimsical musical numbers, the show follows the trio—three eccentric and broke young Englishmen who set up an unorthodox odd-job agency called 'The Goodies'. Operating out of a Victorian music hall and traveling by their famous trunicle (a triple-seater tandem bicycle), they take on any bizarre task assigned to them, frequently resulting in escalating chaos, absurd political subversion, and physical comedy. The series is renowned for its biting satire of contemporary British politics, class structures, pop culture, and media trends of the 1970s. Major conflicts usually arise from the trio attempting mundane tasks like local council jobs, animal control, or historical preservation, only to stumble into catastrophic, oversized scenarios that test their friendship, inventiveness, and physical endurance. Alongside the main trio, the series frequently featured veteran comic actor Robert Morse as a recurring foil or authority figure.
