The Grand Family

Set in the late 1960s and early 1970s during Japan's period of rapid economic growth, 'The Grand Family' follows the Manpyo family, led by the ruthless and ambitious Daisuke Manpyo, the president of Hanshin Bank. The series explores the complex power dynamics within the family and the cutthroat world of high finance, as Daisuke maneuvers to expand his bank's influence through strategic mergers and cold-blooded manipulation of his own children's lives. At the center of the conflict is Teppei Manpyo, Daisuke's eldest son and a brilliant, idealistic steel mill manager. Teppei represents the future of Japan's industrial might, but he finds himself increasingly at odds with his father's corrupt methods and hidden agendas. As the family's secrets are unearthed and the pressure of the financial world mounts, the series delves into themes of corporate greed, generational trauma, and the tragic cost of unchecked ambition.
