The Inheritors

The Inheritors, also widely known as The Heirs, is a trendy teen drama that follows a group of privileged, elite high school students who are set to take over their families' business empires. The story centers on Kim Tan, a wealthy heir to a Korean conglomerate who is exiled to the U.S. by his family, and Cha Eun-sang, a down-to-earth girl who goes to America in search of her sister. After their paths cross, they unexpectedly reunite at an exclusive high school attended by the ultra-rich. Back in Korea, the campus is a microcosm of fierce corporate politics and rigid social stratification. Kim Tan must navigate intense familial rivalries, his illegitimate status within the chaebol household, and his growing feelings for Eun-sang, who exists at the very bottom of the school's social ladder. Alongside complex friendships and bitter betrayals—particularly involving his former best friend turned rival, Choi Young-do—the series explores the heavy burdens, emotional isolation, and sacrifices required of those born into extreme wealth and power.
