The Journalist

Inspired by the hit Japanese film of the same name, "The Journalist" follows Anna Matsuda, an investigative reporter for the Toto Shimbun newspaper who is known as the "maverick of the media" for her relentless pursuit of the truth behind political scandals and societal corruption. Alongside a young civil servant disillusioned by a government cover-up and an idealistic job-seeker, Anna navigates the murky waters of political power, censorship, and bureaucratic cover-ups. The series dives deep into the moral dilemmas faced by journalists and whistleblowers in modern society, shedding light on the heavy personal and professional costs of challenging a formidable political establishment.
