The Larkins

Set in the idyllic Kent countryside in the late 1950s, 'The Larkins' follows the warm-hearted, boisterous, and perpetually cash-strapped working-class family led by the lovable wheeler-dealer Pop Larkin and his fiercely devoted wife, Ma. With their six children—led by the eldest, the gorgeous Mariette—the family knows how to live life to the fullest, often flouting convention and running circles around local authorities and the pompous bureaucracy. Major conflicts throughout the series typically revolve around Pop's colorful, unorthodox business schemes, local snobbery from uptight neighbors like the newly arrived Cedric Charlton (who soon falls for Mariette), and the constant threat of the tax inspector snooping around their farm. Despite these challenges, the Larkins remain the beating heart of their community, always ready to lend a helping hand, host a lavish feast, or celebrate the simple joys of rural English life.
