The Last Cop

The Last Cop follows Kenji Kyogoku, a passionate and old-school detective who falls into a coma after a near-fatal explosion while chasing a criminal in 1985. Thirty years later, he miraculously wakes up to find that the world has changed drastically. He struggles to adapt to modern technology, changing social norms, and a police force that relies more on data than gut instinct. Upon his return, Kyogoku is paired with Ryota Mochizuki, a timid and rule-abiding young detective who represents everything Kyogoku is not. Together, they form an unlikely partnership, solving crimes while Kyogoku attempts to reconnect with his daughter, Yui, who has grown up without him. The series blends high-stakes police procedural action with fish-out-of-water comedy as Kyogoku navigates the complexities of the modern era.
