The Listener follows the life of Toby Logan, a gifted 25-year-old paramedic who has been keeping a life-altering secret: he is a telepath. For years, Toby has kept his ability hidden, using it only to help those in need while struggling to lead a normal life. As he navigates the high-pressure world of emergency medical services in Toronto, he finds himself increasingly unable to ignore the voices of those around him, leading him to intervene in criminal investigations and personal crises. Teaming up with Detective Charlie Marks and his partner Osman 'Oz' Bey, Toby begins to use his unique gift to solve complex cases and bring justice to the city. Throughout the series, Toby grapples with the ethical implications of his power, the toll it takes on his mental health, and the search for his own origins, all while trying to maintain his professional duties as a paramedic.
