The Looming Tower

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Lawrence Wright, The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s. The series focuses on the intense, often counterproductive rivalry between the FBI’s Counterterrorism unit and the CIA, whose failure to share intelligence may have inadvertently set the stage for the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Through the eyes of dedicated agents like John O'Neill, the series explores the bureaucratic infighting, political maneuvering, and personal sacrifices that defined the intelligence community's struggle to understand the evolving global threat. As the narrative unfolds, it highlights the tragic consequences of institutional silos and the missed opportunities that could have potentially altered the course of history.
