The Mick follows Mickey Murphy, an unapologetic, foul-mouthed, and hard-living woman who finds herself suddenly thrust into the role of guardian for her wealthy, estranged sister's three spoiled children. After her sister and brother-in-law flee the country to escape federal fraud charges, Mickey is left to navigate the unfamiliar world of Greenwich, Connecticut, where she attempts to raise the kids while maintaining her own chaotic lifestyle. The series centers on the clash between Mickey's reckless, street-smart sensibilities and the privileged, sheltered upbringing of her niece and nephews: Sabrina, Chip, and Ben. As she struggles to instill some semblance of reality into their lives, the family dynamic is further complicated by the presence of Alba, the family's loyal but easily influenced housekeeper, and Jimmy, Mickey's equally degenerate boyfriend. The show is a dark, irreverent comedy that explores themes of unconventional parenting and the absurdity of extreme wealth.
