The Millionaire

Overview

The Millionaire is a classic American anthology television series that centers on the enigmatic billionaire John Beresford Tipton. From his secluded mansion, Tipton tasks his executive secretary, Michael Anthony, with delivering a tax-free cashier's check for one million dollars to individuals chosen at random. The series explores the profound impact this sudden, massive windfall has on the lives of the recipients, who are unaware of the identity of their benefactor. Each episode functions as a standalone story, focusing on the moral dilemmas, personal transformations, and unexpected consequences faced by the recipients. While some use the money to improve their lives or help others, many find that the sudden wealth brings out hidden character flaws, greed, or complex social complications. Michael Anthony serves as the recurring bridge between the mysterious Tipton and the diverse cast of characters featured in each installment.
