The National South-West Associated University And Us

Set against the harrowing backdrop of the Second Sino-Japanese War, 'The National South West Associated University And Us' chronicles the epic journey of China's most brilliant young minds, faculty, and scholars. Forced to evacuate deep into the interior, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Nankai University merge to form the prestigious Southwest Associated University in Kunming. Amidst relentless air raids, extreme poverty, and political turmoil, these students and professors strive to preserve the flame of education, culture, and intellectual independence. The series follows a fictionalized yet deeply grounded ensemble of passionate students—such as Cheng Jiashu, Lin Huating, and Ye润青—who navigate their youthful ideals, romance, and rivalries while facing the harsh realities of wartime survival. As they study under candlelight and debate the future of their nation, they transform from hopeful scholars into courageous intellectuals, scientists, and revolutionaries who would ultimately shape the modern history of China.
