Based on Homer's ancient Greek epic poem, 'The Odyssey' follows the tumultuous journey of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he strives to return home after the fall of Troy. Plagued by the wrath of Poseidon, he must navigate treacherous seas, mythical beasts, sirens, and divine intervention while facing mortal perils. Back in Ithaca, Odysseus's faithful wife Penelope and their son Telemachus struggle to fend off a greedy cohort of suitors who have overrun the royal palace, assuming Odysseus is dead and vying for the throne and Penelope's hand in marriage. The narrative weaves together the physical trials of the wandering king and the psychological warfare at home, culminating in an epic reclamation of his kingdom.
