Charles Young is a cynical, introverted obituary writer living in Brooklyn who finds his carefully curated life upended when he accidentally locks himself out of his apartment in his bathrobe. With no phone, no keys, and no wallet, Charles is forced to navigate the unfamiliar landscape of his own neighborhood, stripped of the digital and physical barriers he uses to keep the world at bay. As he attempts to find a way back inside, Charles encounters a colorful cast of neighbors and strangers who challenge his misanthropic worldview. Through these unexpected interactions, he is compelled to confront his past mistakes and the emotional isolation he has cultivated. The film serves as a poignant, humorous exploration of human connection, urban life, and the necessity of stepping outside one's comfort zone to truly begin living.
