Based on Jin Yong's famous wuxia novel of the same name, The Return of the Condor Heroes follows the life of Yang Guo, an orphan raised in a turbulent era of martial arts. After enduring mistreatment and being cast out, he is taken in by Xiaolongnü, the ethereal and cold master of the Ancient Tomb Sect, who becomes both his martial arts teacher and the love of his life. Their forbidden romance violates deeply ingrained Confucian and martial arts taboos, sparking widespread condemnation from the Jianghu (martial arts community). Separated by tragic misunderstandings, cruel plots, and devastating injuries, Yang Guo and Xiaolongnü must endure a harrowing sixteen-year separation, battling formidable rivals, political corruption, and personal demons before they can hope for a reunion.
