The Rule of Mimi

Set in Rio de Janeiro, 'The Rule of Mimi' (internationally known as 'Rules of the Game') follows the complex and gritty life of Romero Rômulo, a former idealistic community leader who has secretly become a powerful and corrupt operative allied with the most dangerous criminal faction in the city. The central conflict ignites when Tóia, an honest and resilient woman from the favela, crosses paths with Romero, unaware that he was partially responsible for the tragedy that ruined her adoptive father's life years ago. As the narrative unfolds, the series delves deep into themes of moral ambiguity, betrayal, and deception. A tense cat-and-mouse dynamic develops as Atena, a cunning, witty, and fiercely ambitious con artist, enters Romero's life, forming a volatile partnership that blurs the lines between genuine romance and ruthless self-preservation. Alongside a sprawling ensemble of investigators, criminals, and ordinary citizens, the characters navigate a web of secrets where the ultimate rule is survival at any cost.
