The Secret Agent

Set in 1886 London, the series follows Adolf Verloc, a seedy shopkeeper who secretly operates as a spy for the Russian embassy. Pressured by his Russian handler, Mr. Vladimir, to instigate a terrorist bombing to provoke a brutal government crackdown on London's anarchist groups, Verloc finds himself trapped in a web of political intrigue. His actions have devastating, tragic consequences for his unsuspecting wife, Winnie, and her vulnerable brother, Stevie, ultimately destroying the very family he is trying to protect.
