The Starlost is a science fiction television series created by Harlan Ellison that follows the journey of Devon, a young man living in a primitive, agrarian society within the Earthship Ark. The Ark is a massive, multi-generational starship that has been traveling through space for centuries following a catastrophic disaster on Earth. Over time, the inhabitants of the ship's various biospheres have forgotten their true nature, believing their individual domes to be the entire universe. After Devon discovers the truth about his world and is forced to flee his village, he joins forces with Garth and Rachel. Together, they travel through the various domes of the Ark, encountering bizarre societies, technological remnants, and the ship's malfunctioning computer systems. Their primary goal is to reach the bridge of the ship to save the Ark from its impending collision with a star, all while navigating the complex and often dangerous social structures of the isolated dome-dwellers.
