On October 1, 1989, forty-three women worldwide give birth simultaneously, despite none of them showing any signs of pregnancy prior to labor. Seven of the children are adopted by eccentric billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates The Umbrella Academy and trains six of them to save the world. Years later, the estranged surviving members reunite upon the news of Hargreeves' passing, just as an impending apocalypse threatens humanity. Together, they must work past their deep-seated emotional traumas and divergent personalities to uncover the secrets of their family and prevent global destruction.

Television Guide
A botched time jump scatters the siblings across 1960s Dallas, Texas, forcing them to find each other, prevent a new apocalypse, and return to the present.
Smarting from their exploits in 1963, the Umbrella Academy steps into a timeline that isn't theirs, populated by the formidable and hostile Sparrow Academy.
Deprived of their powers and scattered six years after the Hotel Obsidian incident, the Hargreeves siblings must face a final, universe-altering threat.
