The Wandering Earth

In the near future, the sun is rapidly expanding into a red giant, threatening to consume the Earth. To ensure the survival of the human race, the United Earth Government initiates the 'Wandering Earth' project, a massive engineering feat that involves building thousands of giant fusion-powered thrusters across the planet's surface to propel Earth out of the solar system and toward a new star system in the Alpha Centauri constellation. The journey is expected to take 2,500 years, spanning 100 generations. As the planet passes through the gravitational pull of Jupiter, a catastrophic malfunction occurs, causing the Earth to be pulled toward the gas giant. The story follows a group of unlikely heroes, including a young man named Liu Qi and his estranged astronaut father Liu Peiqiang, who must work against time to restart the planetary engines and prevent a collision that would result in the total extinction of humanity. It is a tale of sacrifice, technological ambition, and the indomitable spirit of mankind facing cosmic annihilation.
