Tokyo Bandwagon

Tokyo Bandwagon follows the Hotta family, a colorful and eccentric multi-generational clan living in the shitamachi (old town) district of Tokyo. The family operates a long-standing second-hand bookstore called 'Furugiya' and a cafe, serving as the emotional anchor for their neighborhood. The story centers on Ao Hotta, a charismatic and somewhat mysterious university professor, and his sprawling family, including his father, siblings, and their children, who all live under one roof. As the family navigates the complexities of modern life, they frequently find themselves entangled in the personal troubles and mysteries of their neighbors. Each episode features the family working together to solve these local enigmas, often guided by the wisdom of the family patriarch. The series explores themes of familial bonds, the importance of community, and the beauty of tradition in a rapidly changing city, all narrated by the spirit of the family's deceased grandmother.
