Tower of Sand

Tower of Sand follows Aki Takano, a housewife who finally achieves her dream of moving into a luxurious high-rise apartment complex. However, she soon discovers that the building is governed by a rigid, suffocating social hierarchy among the mothers, where status is determined by one's floor level and lifestyle. As Aki struggles to fit into this elitist community, she becomes increasingly isolated and anxious. Simultaneously, the neighborhood is terrorized by a series of mysterious child abductions known as the 'Piper' cases. Aki finds an unlikely confidant in her neighbor, Kanako Sasaki, a beautiful and charismatic woman who seems to be the perfect mother. However, as the investigation into the kidnappings intensifies, Aki begins to suspect that the person she trusts most might be hiding a dark and dangerous secret that threatens her own family.
