Twenty Twelve is a British mockumentary sitcom that follows the day-to-day operations of the Olympic Deliverance Commission (ODC), the fictional body tasked with organizing the 2012 London Olympics. Presented in a fly-on-the-wall style, the series satirizes the bureaucratic incompetence, corporate jargon, and PR-obsessed culture of modern public sector management. At the center of the chaos is Ian Fletcher, the well-meaning but perpetually stressed Head of Deliverance, who struggles to keep the project on track while dealing with his eccentric, self-serving staff and a series of absurd logistical disasters. The show highlights the friction between the various departments, including the PR team led by the manipulative Siobhan Sharpe and the sustainability department headed by the overly earnest Kay Hope. As the deadline for the Games approaches, the team faces constant setbacks, ranging from transport failures and branding blunders to the impossible task of managing the egos of high-profile consultants. Through its sharp writing and deadpan delivery, the series serves as a biting commentary on the absurdity of large-scale government projects.
