"Unsolved" is a true-crime anthology television series that chronicles the dual police investigations into the tragic, high-profile murders of hip-hop icons Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. The narrative unfolds through two primary timelines: the original 1996/1997 investigations led by decorated detectives Russell Poole and Greg Kading, and the subsequent 2006 task force review. As the detectives dig deeper into the corruption, street politics, and intense East Coast-West Coast rivalry, they uncover a web of lies and institutional roadblocks that continuously threaten to keep the truth buried. The series explores the intense personal tolls taken on the investigators, particularly Detective Russell Poole, whose obsession with the case leads him down a dangerous path questioning police involvement. Through gripping dramatizations and stellar performances, the show balances the human elements of the victims' lives with the procedural grit of trying to solve two of the most infamous unsolved murder mysteries in modern music history.
