Vatanim Sensin

Set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish War of Independence, the series follows Cevdet, a highly decorated Balkan War commander, and his wife Azize. After being betrayed by his close friend and left for dead, Cevdet is captured by the Greek army and held as a prisoner of war for years. When he finally returns to his family in Izmir, he is perceived as a traitor who has defected to the Greek side, causing immense pain and confusion for his wife and children. In reality, Cevdet is a secret agent working for the Turkish resistance, forced to maintain his cover as a Greek collaborator to sabotage the occupation from within. The series masterfully explores the internal conflict of a man torn between his duty to his country and his love for his family, as he navigates a landscape of shifting loyalties, political intrigue, and the brutal realities of war.
