Exhausted and mentally drained from a grueling role, acclaimed Japanese actor Takayuki Yamada seeks refuge and a fresh perspective on life in the eccentric neighborhood of Akabane, located in Tokyo's Kita ward. Based on the manga 'Tada, Ko-neko o Nusumu dake' and guided by the quirky and mysterious manga creator Nobuhiro Yamashita and director Taku Yamashita, Yamada immerses himself in the bizarre, heartwarming, and unfiltered daily lives of the local residents. The series blurs the lines between reality and fiction as a mockumentary, following Yamada as he interacts with eccentric local characters, forms unconventional friendships, and attempts to rediscover his passion for acting and living. As the boundary between Yamada the real person and the character he portrays dissolves, the show presents a surreal yet deeply human exploration of authenticity, identity, and the comforting anonymity found in Tokyo's lesser-known neighborhoods.
