Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. Located in Montana, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch is under constant threat from those it borders: land developers, an expanding town, and America's first national park. The series explores the complex dynamics of the family as they navigate shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect. The narrative centers on the brutal struggle to maintain the ranch's legacy against external pressures and internal strife. John Dutton must balance his role as a father to his four children—Kayce, Beth, Jamie, and the late Lee—while dealing with political maneuvering, corporate greed, and the violent realities of life in the American West. As the family fights to protect their land, the lines between hero and villain blur, revealing the high cost of power and tradition.
