History of the World, Part II is an American sketch comedy television series serving as a sequel to the 1981 Mel Brooks film History of the World, Part I. Distributed by Hulu, the series spans across multiple historical eras, reimagining, satirizing, and twisting famous historical events and figures through a variety of sketches, musical numbers, and mockumentary segments. Created, written, and narrated by Mel Brooks alongside a massive ensemble cast including Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll, and Ike Barinholtz, the series tackles everything from the American Civil War and the Russian Revolution to the invention of search engines and the building of the pyramids. Through its absurd humor and relentless gag rate, the show pokes fun at human civilization's recurring follies.
