Set during World War II, the series follows Princess Diana of Themyscira, an Amazonian warrior who leaves her hidden island paradise to aid the Allied forces against the Axis powers. After rescuing American pilot Major Steve Trevor, she adopts the secret identity of Diana Prince, a yeoman in the U.S. military, using her superhuman strength, speed, and iconic golden lasso to fight for justice and liberty. Following the first season, the series shifted its setting to the contemporary 1970s, retitled 'The New Adventures of Wonder Woman.' In this era, Diana Prince works as an agent for the Inter-Agency Defense Command, continuing her mission to protect the world from modern threats, espionage, and criminal masterminds while maintaining her dual identity.
